UNCG Entrepreneur Day

History:

  • EntDayWebworksSince 2012, approximately 70 classes with 2,000+ students have hosted speakers each year
  • 110 different faculty members teaching in 51 different subject areas have hosted 142 different guest speakers.

Goals for 2019:

  • Introduce thousands of students to successful entrepreneurs in their classrooms on one day, Tuesday, October 22, 2019
  • Engage 100+ alumni, regional business and non-profit executives in meaningful experiences with students

Benefits:

  • Students – Receive exposure to new potential career paths, opportunities and connections
  • Guest speakers– An easy way to give back and get to know our students and faculty
  • Faculty – An easy way to add a guest speaker with content relevant to courses
  • UNCG Alumni Relations, Development and Career Services Staff– A great way to engage alumni and friends

Structure:

  • Successful guest speakers sharing their experiences with classes in solo presentations and panel discussions
  • Registration, lunch and networking all day at the Alumni House for guests, faculty and student volunteers
  • All planning and logistics coordinated by the NC Entrepreneurship Center, Alumni Relations and Career Services
  • Faculty members from all disciplines recruited during the fall semester
  • Guest speakers recruited early in spring semester based on faculty interests and course content
